Your Voice Is Powerful

Attend the National Lupus Summit.

Reach out to your local and federal representatives. Urge them to join the Congressional Lupus Caucus and encourage them to support funding for lupus research and patient care.

Contact your city officials to request proclamations during Lupus Awareness Month in May or ask them to light up a landmark or city building in purple.

Spread Awareness

Use social media to share lupus facts, statistics, infographics, resources, and events.

Use hashtags such as #LupusAwarenessMonth, #WorldLupusDay, #MakeLupusVisible, and #POP.

Put On Purple for World Lupus Day on May 10.

Join online communities and support groups to connect with other lupus warriors and share experiences.

Tell your lupus story—or the story of a loved one—and inspire others.

Rally support for those affected by the disease

Join or start a team for a lupus event near you.

Create your own fundraiser—host a bake sale, garage sale, sporting event, or another activity that brings people together for a cause.

Ask family and friends to donate in lieu of gifts for birthdays, weddings, or other special occasions.

Turn something you already enjoy doing into an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for lupus.

Make an Impact

Support a lupus organization whose mission is meaningful to you with a one-time or monthly donation.

Your contribution can help support lupus research, education, advocacy, patient programs, and greater public awareness.

Look for other ways to give, including eligible in-kind or household-item donations to organizations that accept them.

Give in Tribute

Honor someone special with a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one.
